I’ve been thinking about the Kanye West incident.
As much as it pains me to say it, last night I missed the most important point:
Kanye West, in a fit of jealousy and anger, took away what should have been one of the highlights of a nineteen year old girl’s life. VMAs don’t matter to me, but Taylor Swift was clearly thrilled to have won.
Forget rudeness. Forget the low-class behavior. Forget the awful grammar.
Kanye stole a young woman’s moment of pride and happiness.
UPDATE:Beyonce being a real class-act:
Kanye apologized on his blog and on Leno last night. He says when the crowd booed, he knew he’d done something wrong.
Better late than never, I suppose.
UPDATE: Viacom made another copyright claim against the above video. Too bad for them, as it was probably the best face they could put on this incident.
