Kanye West is a Douchebag

I normally try to keep the ad-hominem removed from my writing. I also try to not post about the utterly irrelevant, as the myriad of entertainment awards shows almost always are.

However, Kanye West made sure to prove himself an asshole tonight, and I felt obliged to point it out to everyone.

Unfortunately, the folks at WordPress still believe that YouTube is the only source for video on the internet, so I can only share the Kanye West – Fishsticks episode of South Park by linking it. (WARNING: Not Safe For Work or small children)

I don’t watch MTV at all, so the VMAs were not on my radar.  Thanks to social media like Facebook and Twitter, I found out about this:  Interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, Kanye ran on stage, took the mic, and stated his belief that Beyonce Knowles should have won the award.

Well, guess what? Your vote only counts once, Mr. West. The other thousands-upon-thousands (millions?) of people who voted seemed to disagree with you.

You lose.

Kanye seems to like to prove that he’s a douchebag. Remember this bit of stupidity?

What a jackass.

UPDATE: Reports are that Beyonce gave Taylor Swift a chance to give her acceptance speech during her (Beyonce’s) own time on stage. Classy.

UPDATE: Viacom (parent company of MTV) is clearly embarrassed. They made a copyright claim against the video linked above and got the Associated Press to pull its video of the incident. They must want this story to die.
